1. BrickLink’s next Castle submission window opens tomorrow
BrickLink Designer Program submissions for 2028 Wave 1 open tomorrow, September 14, at noon Pacific, giving fan designers another opportunity to put new medieval builds into the pipeline.
Castle designers should also remember one important BDP guardrail: project titles cannot use established LEGO faction names such as Lion Knights or Wolfpack. That rule has carried over from previous submission rounds, while current projects must fall between 400 and 4,000 pieces and follow BrickLink’s minifigure limits.
2. Medieval Horse Knight Castle is out at LEGO — but Target still has it
LEGO’s U.S. store currently lists 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle at its normal $129.99 price, but the set is marked temporarily out of stock.
Target, meanwhile, still lists the set at the same $129.99 MSRP.
That does not mean the set is becoming difficult to find overall. It is simply a good reminder for Castle collectors that LEGO.com availability and wider retail availability can tell two very different stories.
3. This LEGO Ideas Medieval Museum is basically a Castle history exhibit
A current LEGO Ideas project called Medieval Museum takes an unusual approach to Castle: instead of building another fortress, it turns medieval LEGO history into the exhibit itself.
The proposed museum includes displays inspired by multiple Castle factions and eras, including newer groups such as the Griffin and Kraken warriors.
It is still early in the LEGO Ideas process, so this is firmly a project to watch, not anything close to a confirmed future set. But the idea of turning LEGO Castle history into an in-universe museum is one of the more interesting Castle concepts currently making the rounds.

That $65 Birthday Cake GWP has a Pick a Brick catch
The current 40780 Birthday Cake gift-with-purchase runs through September 19 for LEGO Insiders with a qualifying $65 purchase.
But Castle builders putting together a Pick a Brick order should watch the fine print:
Pick a Brick Standard orders do not count toward the qualifying spend.
So if you are building a $65+ cart primarily around Standard PAB pieces, do not assume that cart will automatically trigger the Birthday Cake.
