1. SLEEPY DRAGON INN CROWDFUNDING OPENS TUESDAY
One of the year's biggest dates for medieval LEGO collectors arrives Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT.
BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 crowdfunding opens with Sleepy Dragon Inn priced at $269.99, with a limit of two per household.
The 3,121-piece medieval inn includes nine minifigures, with characters representing the Kraken, Griffin, Horse and Serpent factions.
Crowdfunding runs through Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. PT, or until sets reach their production limits.
2. THREE MAJOR RETAIL SALES START THIS WEEK
LEGO deal hunters have a busy few days ahead.
Walmart: Deals begin Monday, Oct. 5 at 12 a.m. ET.
Target: Circle Deal Days runs Oct. 6–7, with Target Circle 360 members receiving early access to select offers beginning Oct. 5. The event is for Target Circle members, which is free to join, but Target's announcement doesn't specifically mention LEGO.
Amazon: Prime Big Deal Days begins Oct. 6 at 3:01 a.m. ET and runs through Oct. 7 for Prime members. Amazon has confirmed LEGO among the participating brands, but Castle-specific deals remain unknown.
ACTION: Check the sales as they go live before assuming a LEGO discount applies to the sets you're after.

3. PICK A BRICK'S NORTH AMERICAN SYSTEM IS CHANGING
The biggest Castle parts story of the week came from Pick a Brick.
LEGO's Pick a Brick team says Standard ordering will temporarily pause in the U.S. and Canada beginning Nov. 2, making Sunday, Nov. 1 the final day to place Standard orders under the current system.
Remaining eligible Standard parts are expected to return as Bestsellers during Q1 2027, so a part disappearing Nov. 2 does not necessarily mean it has retired.
There's also an unanswered Castle question: the Black Knights shield is expected on Pick a Brick before year's end, but LEGO hasn't clarified how November and December additions will be handled in North America during the pause.
4. MORE THAN 800 NEW PARTS HIT PICK A BRICK
October's Pick a Brick release was a big one — more than 800 new elements from June releases.
For Castle builders, that includes elements originating in Minas Tirith, along with animals, horn shapes, wings and other potentially useful building parts.
5. FREE LEGO HALLOWEEN BUILDS AT BARNES & NOBLE
Barnes & Noble locations are hosting LEGO Halloween mini-build events next weekend, with events appearing across Oct. 9–11.
Dates, times, age requirements, registration and availability vary by location — and some stores are already full.
6. FREE GEOFFREY LEGO BUILD AT SELECT MACY'S
Put Saturday, Oct. 17 on the calendar.
Participating Toys“R”Us shops inside select U.S. Macy's stores will offer a free LEGO Geoffrey the Giraffe build-and-take from 12–2 p.m., while supplies last.
ACTION: Check the official Bricktober event information and confirm participation with your local Macy's before making the trip.
