Between them, you’ve got easy options for merchants, nobles, scholars, tavern staff, craftsmen, villagers, and court figures — the kind of civilians that make a castle display feel like an actual world instead of just an army lineup.
All five were checked against the U.S. Pick a Brick catalog this morning. The four torsos are currently $1.16 each, while the printed sand-blue skirt is $0.60.

2. 5 Shrek Minifigures Castle Builders Should Actually Hunt Down
The Shrek Collectible Minifigure series is more useful to Castle builders than it first appears.
Thelonious is the sleeper pick thanks to his reusable black executioner hood. Lord Farquaad brings ornate medieval clothing and a cape, Merlin gives you an easy fantasy wizard, Prince Charming works naturally as a noble or prince, and Dragon offers useful fantasy creature parts.
That’s the kind of Castle value that can be easy to miss in a licensed series: new clothing, headgear, accessories, and fantasy pieces that can slot straight into custom medieval builds.

3. Watch: October’s Build-a-Minifigure Has a Castle Sleeper
The reported October LEGO Store Build-a-Minifigure assortment includes a 17th-century-style sword fighter with a printed doublet-style torso and sword.
That gives Castle builders an easy starting point for a swordsman, mercenary, noble, town guard, court figure, or Renaissance-style civilian — and it’s exactly the kind of BAM figure that can get picked through quickly once Castle and Pirates builders notice it.
The assortment is reported to begin October 1, so this is an early warning rather than something available today.
