1. Sleepy Dragon Inn opens tomorrow at 11 AM ET
BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 crowdfunding opens Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. Sleepy Dragon Inn is the Castle pick of the five sets: 3,121 pieces, nine minifigures and $269.99 in the U.S.
Why it matters: This is a one-time production run. The crowdfunding window is your only shot at retail price, and it can close early if production caps fill.
Fine print: The limit is two of each set per household. The window closes Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. PT or sooner if inventory sells out. A set needs 3,000 pre-orders to be produced, and shipping is expected from March 2027.
2. Walmart’s LEGO sale is live, but no Castle deals yet
Walmart’s October deals event runs through Sunday, Oct. 11, and select LEGO sets are now marked down. Most of the discounts we found are outside the Castle and medieval lane.
Why it matters: As of Monday morning, we still haven’t found a Walmart-sold Castle or medieval LEGO set included in the event. Medieval Horse Knight Castle (31168) is not currently showing a discounted Walmart-direct offer, so Castle collectors may be better off waiting to see whether prices move later in the week.
Fine print: Walmart’s advertised “up to 30% off” applies to toys overall, not LEGO specifically. Prices and marketplace listings can change during the event.
3. Amazon and Target sales start tomorrow
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days both run Oct. 6–7. Amazon has already posted early LEGO markdowns. Target is advertising up to 40% off select toys, and Circle 360 members get early access to select offers starting today.
Why it matters: Neither retailer has confirmed a strong Castle-specific deal yet. Better individual discounts can appear once the events officially open, so tomorrow morning is the key time to check.
Fine print: Target’s 40% figure covers select toys, not LEGO specifically. Amazon prices can change quickly during the event. Prime membership is required for Amazon deals, and Target requires Target Circle, which is free.
