1. More than 800 new Pick a Brick elements are live
LEGO’s huge October Pick a Brick update is now rolling out, with more than 800 elements from the June release wave joining the service. Among the most useful additions for Castle builders are new pirate minifigure components that can easily cross over into medieval civilians, sailors, mercenaries, tavern characters and rogues. StoneWars.com
Why it matters: Big Pick a Brick drops are often about more than obvious Castle pieces. New printed torsos, legs, accessories, animals and useful recolors can quietly become some of the best parts for expanding a medieval world.
Fine print: Availability is already moving. Some elements from today’s drop have gone out of stock or have not appeared as expected, so individual pieces may change throughout the day. Brick Fanatics
2. The new Black Knights torso and shield are not part of today’s drop
If you were waiting for the Black Knights pieces from the Sea Serpent, don’t panic when you don’t see them today. The latest information from LEGO’s Pick a Brick team confirms that both the updated Black Knights torso and the previously exclusive printed shield are coming to Pick a Brick later this year. Brick Fanatics
Why it matters: These are two of the most important upcoming army-building pieces for Castle collectors. Once available individually, builders will be able to expand the Black Knights without sourcing additional Sea Serpent sets.
Fine print: The Black Knights shield is currently expected in November or December. An exact launch day has not been announced, so today’s October Pick a Brick release should not be treated as the Black Knights drop. Brick Fanatics
3. Sleepy Dragon Inn crowdfunding opens Tuesday
BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 crowdfunding begins October 6 at 8 a.m. Pacific / 11 a.m. Eastern, putting the Castle-adjacent Sleepy Dragon Inn just five days away from preorder day. BrickLink
Why it matters: Sleepy Dragon Inn brings a substantial medieval build plus Castle minifigures into a one-time BrickLink production run. If it’s on your list, Tuesday morning is the date to remember.
Fine print: Crowd funding runs through October 12 at 3 p.m. Pacific or until sets sell out. The purchase limit is two of each set per household, and a design must receive more than 3,000 preorders to enter production. BrickLink
Watch / Fine Print
Today’s Pick a Brick launch is worth checking more than once. With 800+ additions arriving at once, individual elements can appear, disappear or sell through quickly as the catalog settles. The Black Knights torso and shield are not part of the October 1 release, so we’ll continue watching for their separate arrival later this year. Brick Fanatics
